My Little Make-up Artist

So my mother thought a good reward for Bella going poop on the potty would be to buy her some make-up (the kind they make for little girls).  Bella LoVeS it!!  Mommy, not so much...!  She does a really good job at trying to put it on.  She knows not to put it anywhere but on her face, at least I thought she did until tonight when she ate one of the lipsticks because she thought it was candy, KIDS!!  Well this evening she decided she wanted to do mommy's make-up too, along with her own.  Let me just tell you, my child has a future as Lady Gaga's make-up artist.  Take a look at how beautiful we are after she finished:

Oh, and Auntie, Bella wanted you to know she's taking appointments so you better call and schedule because her time is filling up fast!!  LOL

Until next time...

Getting good at the Potty

Isabella has had an amazing week with potty training.  She has been wearing panties all day, but I still put her in a pull up at night.  She has done well with telling me she has to go potty.  She's only had 3 accidents.  Through the night she does really well.  Only one night, she went in her pull up.  Also, she went poop in the potty for the first time!  This was a big deal.  I cheered in the bathroom when she did.  We also called daddy right away to tell him.  He was so proud of her!  The best part is now that she knows what she has to do to poop on the potty, she's been going pretty regularly for her.  I know we will probably have some set backs in the future, but for now, we are enjoying this victory!!

Buh Bye Beard

Not only did Jason shave his beard, but he finally let me cut his hair too.  No more being married to Grizzly Adams, which makes me very happy.

This is the mess of hair that I cut from his head!  He finally decided that since Spring is here, he could get his hair cut down.  Hopefully that will bring in some warm weather!!  I'm just thankful to have my handsome hubby back!  :)

The Beard

I love my husband.  The beard, not so much.  Over the last couple months, Jason has "let himself go" so to speak.  This has gotten out of control.  Don't get me wrong, I like facial hair, but I'm more into the 5 o'clock shadow, not the Grizzly Adams look.  Even his hair is getting crazy long.  I think it's time for a nice little clean up, especially since spring has arrived.  I'm hoping by this weekend that it will all be gone and I'll have my husband back, not sasquatch (my new nickname for him).  I told him if he lets it go any longer that forest creatures are going to start nesting in that thing!!  Wish me luck on encouraging him to get rid of it.

Nora Sue

On March 13, we welcomed a new niece, Nora Sue Standeford.  She was 8lbs 15oz and 20" long.  She was a big girl like Bella.  A few days after she arrived we were able to go to the hospital to meet her, and then spend a little time with her at Jake and Roxanne's the following day.  She is absolutely adorable. (We Standeford's make beautiful babies, just sayin!!)  I fell in love the moment I held her.  Bella was fascinated with her new little cousin.  Can't wait to get to see her again!

We're so happy for Jake and Rox!!  Enjoy every moment because it will go by soooo fast.  I feel like I blinked and now my baby is almost 3 years old.  Love that our family is growing :)

Some New Furniture

A couple weeks ago my parents gave us the most comfortable furniture ever for our family room.  All I had to do is recover the cushions.  I spent the day on Sunday working on that project.  It took me about 6 hours to complete but they turned out really nice.  Here's how they look:

Finished Renovations

I have posted pics of our living room and kitchen since we have completed our "renovations" and redecorated.  Here are the pictures I had promised of our "Den" and I also am included some from the hallway upstairs.  We added a stencil around the center of the wall and Bella is on full display.  Plus we added a wall quote that you see everytime you walk down the steps.  So here they are:

The room doesn't stay very warm in the winter so I'm looking forward to the warmer weather coming so I can enjoy it more.

Barney is a dinosaur from our imagination...

So last week, I took Isabella to see Barney Live.  She loved it!!  She sat there in amazement at the fact that Barney was right there in front of her.  It was a really cute show and we had a good time.  Here are some pictures of the fun we had...

Project Complete

I'm so very excited to say that after today, we are finally done with all the projects on the main level of our house.  We finished up the trim in our den, just off the kitchen, and did a few touch up things in the kitchen and dining room.  We also moved some furniture around too this past week.  I will have some pictures up soon.  Now all we have left is updating our bathroom upstairs and fixing a few things in the bathroom downstairs.  We are trying to do things in a cost efficient measure and spend as little as possible.  This means, trying to use what we have and just revamp it.  Can't wait to get started!  We also will be putting carpet in all the bedrooms and the hallway before spring comes.  I'm excited for that as well.  Our goal is to get everything done inside before the warm weather gets here so we can spend plenty of time outdoors working on our landscaping.  Plus our garage needs to be repainted!!

Wish us luck!!

Potty Training Progress

I am pleased to say that Isabella has had a really good week with potty training.  She has been wearing her "big girl" panties pretty much on a daily basis.  She tells us when she has to go pee pee and has had very few accidents.  She has tried to poo on the potty but with no success.  One day she will surprise herself!  She has however told me when she has to poo and that she needs a pull up on.  This makes mommy very happy.  It's not too fun scrubbing poo out of panties (trust me, you would do it too if you paid $9 for 6 pair of Dora panties, there like gold).  Unfortunately though, the other day, we had to say good bye to a pair of Dora's.  She couldn't tell me in time and she went poo in her panties.  She hasn't been feeling too well, and it wasn't a very fun panty change.  Mommy wasn't scrubbing those ones to say the least!  Bella is still wearing a pull up through the night, but hopefully in a couple weeks, she will be wearing her panties through the night too with no accidents.  We are definatley doing much better than what we were a week ago, that's for sure.  I'll keep you all posted on the progress as she continues to on her way to becoming such a BIG girl!

Until next time...

Bella's First Dance Class

So today Bella had her first dance class.  I was surprised at how well she did.  I thought she would be the one that was crying and wanting to be next to me the whole class, but she wasn't!  She actually sat with the other girls on the mat, and participated in some of the things they did today.  She was still shy and unsure about some things but I know if a few weeks she will do fine and really start to enjoy it.  Plus, the class was a little crazy today, with 7 girls.  Miss Leanne is going to split it up into two smaller groups, so I'm sure that will help too.  I was able to get lots of pictures today.  Bella looked so cute in her dance wear!!  Can't wait to see how the next three months go and how much she will learn.

Until next time...
