A Healthy Family is a Happy Family

What a week we have had!! On Tuesday, Isabella had a bad cold. She had a runny nose, watery eyes, fever, cough, and at night she would get so congested she didn't want to sleep. She was not a happy camper when mommy would lay her down to go do something. So I spent the day comforting my sick baby and getting in some major tv time. By Wednesday, she was starting to feel better so we sent her to Nanny's and mommy went back to work. We thought things were getting better until late Wednesday night/early Thursday morning Jason and I both came down with the flu. It was terrible!! We couldn't move off the couch because we were so achey!! Thankfully, Nanny came to the rescue and kept Isabella all day and night on Thursday so we could recoop. By Friday afternoon we were feeling much better. Unfortunately, Nanny and Pappy both ended up getting sick with the flu too!! So hopefully the flu bug is done traveling through our family for awhile and we will all stay on the road to recovery!!

Weekend in Indy

We had the opportunity to go to Indianapolis this past weekend to see the fam and hang out with John and Rachel. It was so much fun to watch the three girls together. This was the first time they really noticed each other. Isabella and Nellie were so cute when they would "hug" each other. Bella tried to give her kisses like she does her baby doll! They are all so adorable and growing up so fast. Here are pictures from our "photo shoot" from Saturday night:

































When we got home, Isabella tested out her new high chair and really enjoyed it! I hope the high chair loved applesauce as much as Bella because it was covered in it!! So we ventured upstairs to take a bath. I had to snap a few pics because she's getting so big that she almost doesn't fit in her little tub anymore! She also has to model her princess robe from Aunt Donna!

Our Little Show-Off!

She finally did it!!

Bella finally rolled over from her back to her tummy for the first time last night!! She also rolled back! It was so exciting. What made it even more special was that several members of the Longanecker family saw it happen! We were in Chicago (Bella's first trip to the Windy City) for my family's Christmas. She decided she wanted to show off. With a little bit of encouragement she managed to get over that pesty shoulder and make it on to her tummy!! Now that she knows how to accomplish this task that it all she wants to do! The photo below is her rolling on her tummy today at Nanny's:

She also got her first pedicure this week. She chose to go with bright red polish!!

The Many Faces of Isabella

Happy 2009!!

It was bittersweet saying good-bye to 2008! We received the best gift possible, our beautiful baby girl. As we move into 2009, we look forward to the many milestones Isabella will conquer!!

She already is trying to pull herself up into a seated position, she's starting to hold her own bottles, she loves to stand up, and when we place her on her tummy, her little legs go like crazy but she just can't get herself in the position to crawl yet.

This year we will get to see her grow so much. She will crawl, walk, hopefully start talking, take her first vacations (one to see Aunt Donna and Uncle Jim, the other to Hilton Head SC), experience her first real summer, get her first teeth, and many other things that are going to make me realize even more that she is growing so fast.

As we enter the new year, I have one major goal for myself. I'm going to enter a contest with my mom, sister, and brother called "The Best Loser." The team with the highest weight loss percentage will win $1000. Yes, I'm going to loose weight. I want to get rid of the 10 pounds I can't seem to shed that our left from Bella. I wouldn't mind losing another 15 pounds on top of that. I tease Jason, telling him I want to get back to pre-Jason weight. It's amazing what 4 1/2 years does to you!! So we'll see how it goes and if I'm able to reach my goal!!
