Christmas has come and gone!!

The Standefords: Christmas 2008

So, Jason has been getting on my case because I haven't been keeping up with my post. I'm going to try to do a better job in the new year but don't hold me to it!!

We celebrated Isabella's first Christmas!! It was exciting but will be more fun next year when she actually knows whats going on. She was interested in the bows on packages and trying to eat the wrapping paper more than the gifts. The only present she got really excited about was her Pound Puppy we got her. The look on her face was priceless, I wish I would have gotten a picture. Here are some pictures:

We hope that everyone has a Blessed and Wonderful Christmas!! We sure did!

I'm such a slacker!!

So I've been really bad about posting new blogs. I can't believe it's almost the end of October and I haven't posted anything since September. Guess that's what Mommyhood does to you! You have no time to yourself.

Isabella is growing like a weed! She's already somewhere around 14lbs. She's a big healthy girl that's for sure. We took her on Sunday to get her pictures taken for the first time. She wasn't having it but thankfully we got a couple cute shots. I'll get some posted as soon as I get some time! (What's that, lol!)

This past month, October 17, Jason turned 28!! We spent the weekend in Monrovia seeing the family. We had so much fun! I was so excited to see Ann and Nellie! They have grown so much, but as of last week, Isabella has passed them up weight wise!

I've been back to work now going on 4 weeks. It has definately gotten easier, but my first week back I was a wreck. I cried every morning when I left her and called my mom about 3 times a day to check on her. That's a lot when you are only working 6 hours a day...LOL!! Thankfully my mom has been watching her. It has made things so much easier for Jason and I!

I will try to stay on top of my post and get pictures up soon of Isabella!! Until next time!

She's a Beast!

On Friday, Sept. 12, Isabella was 1 month old. I can't believe it has gone that fast!! She had her check-up and boy were we shocked. She weighed 11 lbs 4oz and was 22 1/2 inches long. She has gained over 2 lbs since her last appointment and grown 2 inches. According to the doctor, she is the perfect baby! Also, things are getting better with her sleeping. She sleeps for at least 4 hours, sometimes more, at a time. She has also been sleeping more in her bassinet. I still let her sleep with me occassionally. :)

Time Flies...

Over the past week I have gotten way behind on my post. It's amazing how little time you have with a newborn. Thankfully she is napping so Ican catch everyone up on what has been going on in our lives lately...

Sept. 1

I celebrated my 28th birthday today. Jason had a nice little birthday party for me. Mom and dad, Jenn, Justin, Cara, Jason, Heidi, Neil, Mom and Dad Standeford, Jordan, and of course Jason and Isabella were all there to help me celebrate. I have such wonderful friends and family. I can't believe I'm 28 already. My favorite pic from the party...

Sept. 3

Jenn and Justin celebrated their 3rd wedding anniversary. Three years already!!

Sept. 6

Today we had a baby shower to welcome Isabella. It was such a great time! Amanda came all the way from Illinois to see her. I was so excited. We haven't seen each other since Jason and I got married in July 2007. Where does the time go!! Here are some pics from the shower...

This was the day after the shower. Daddy just got back from playing golf with Uncle John.

So that brings things up to date. Some things that have been happening with Bella the last week and a half...She has been staying awake more during the day, which makes our nights a little more pleasant. She has really been holding her head up and looking around. She has been focusing on certain objects. She has really come to love music, especially classical. I can't believe how big she is getting. People don't lie when they say they grow up so fast.

Oh and another wonderful thing about today, Jason and I met 4 years ago today while out at Have a Nice Day Cafe in downtown Indy. Who would of thought we would still be together, be married, and have a family. :) Until next time!

I can't believe it's been 10 years...

Last night we attended my 10 year high school reunion. I can't believe it's been 10 years already. It's crazy to think how time flies. It was great to see all my old classmates, but disappointing because there were so many people I wanted to see that didn't attend.

It was also our first time leaving Isabella. She had great baby sitters (Aunt Jenny and Uncle Justin). I still had a hard time with it. Jenn laughed at me while I cried putting her in her car seat. I did however survive the evening and was excited to get my baby back.

P.S. I found a sleeping technique that works and gets me about 3 and a half hours of straight sleep at one time. I've been putting her next to me in bed. I know it's probably a no-no but really I don't care since we are both getting sleep!!

No Computer, What??

After a couple days of thinking our beloved computer had crashed, we found out it was just the monitor. We are still not sure what happened to it but thankfully we still had my old computer from college in the attic. We dug out the old dinosaur, hooked her up, and now we're back in business. I couldn't be more excited because the computer is my connection to the outside world these days!!

Isabella's been having some sleepless nights this last week, so that means mommy hasn't been sleeping either. Because of this, we sleep during the day when we can. That means nothing gets done around the house. No laundry, no dishes, no cleaning, and I'm lucky if I get to take a shower! Anybody with suggestions on how to get her on a good sleeping pattern, I'm all ears!!

Today Isabella is two weeks old. It's hard to believe it's been two weeks already!!

An Apple a Day

Isabella had her first checkup today with her doctor. She did so good!! The only time she cried was when the nurse went to take her temperature. I guess if I were sleeping and someone stuck something cold under my armpit I would cry too.

Ready to go to the doctor

She weighs 9 lbs now, which is great because she was at 8 lbs 2 ozs when we were discharged from the hospital. (Our little girl is quite the eater!!) The doctor said she ways healthy and the perfect little baby!

I guess we must be doing something right, which is a total relief!!

Oh What a Night

Isabella and I survived our first night without daddy since Jason had to go back to work. Things went pretty well, despite the fact that I had a fever of 100.6, was achey, and had the chills. Somehow we managed. She's been sleeping pretty well through the nights, waking about every 3 hours to be fed. Boy that girl can eat!

Isabella also lost the rest of her cord last night. I was so glad it finally fell off. I'm sure it's more comfortable for her too. Jason thinks I'm crazy because I want to save it for her baby book. Maybe I am, but I don't want to forget any memory of our little girl! Until next time!

A Whole New World

This last week has been a whirlwind. We went from husband and wife to being a family. A week ago today, our beautiful daughter made her debut into the world. Let me fill you in.

August 12: Isabella Amber Standeford was born via C-Section at 5:57pm. She weighed 8 lbs 12 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long.

August 13-14: Spent this time recovering in the hospital. Hospital beds are so uncomfortable, especially when you have limited mobility. Poor Jason had to sleep on a cot that had a matress only 2 inches thick. I don't know how he did it, but he managed to get plenty of sleep.

August 15: The best day ever!! We were released from the hospital. It was so exciting to be heading home! Isabella was thrilled too!

August 16: Grammy Standeford, Aunt Rachel, Ann and Nellie came to visit for the first time. Isabella was excited to see everyone and mommy was excited to have the extra help to get settled in. The girls had their first pajama party Saturday night! Isabella was quite the party animal. She stayed up all night long, which wasn't much fun for mommy!

August 17: Uncle Jake and Aunt Rox came to meet Bella.

It was soon time for everyone to leave but not before a Bella sandwich!

That brings us up too date. Things with our new family have been going great! We've had only a couple restless nights but we wouldn't trade them for anything!! Our spoiled rotten dogs have really taken a liking to their new baby sister, which has helped things go smoothly!
