I can't believe it's been 10 years...

Last night we attended my 10 year high school reunion. I can't believe it's been 10 years already. It's crazy to think how time flies. It was great to see all my old classmates, but disappointing because there were so many people I wanted to see that didn't attend.

It was also our first time leaving Isabella. She had great baby sitters (Aunt Jenny and Uncle Justin). I still had a hard time with it. Jenn laughed at me while I cried putting her in her car seat. I did however survive the evening and was excited to get my baby back.

P.S. I found a sleeping technique that works and gets me about 3 and a half hours of straight sleep at one time. I've been putting her next to me in bed. I know it's probably a no-no but really I don't care since we are both getting sleep!!

No Computer, What??

After a couple days of thinking our beloved computer had crashed, we found out it was just the monitor. We are still not sure what happened to it but thankfully we still had my old computer from college in the attic. We dug out the old dinosaur, hooked her up, and now we're back in business. I couldn't be more excited because the computer is my connection to the outside world these days!!

Isabella's been having some sleepless nights this last week, so that means mommy hasn't been sleeping either. Because of this, we sleep during the day when we can. That means nothing gets done around the house. No laundry, no dishes, no cleaning, and I'm lucky if I get to take a shower! Anybody with suggestions on how to get her on a good sleeping pattern, I'm all ears!!

Today Isabella is two weeks old. It's hard to believe it's been two weeks already!!

An Apple a Day

Isabella had her first checkup today with her doctor. She did so good!! The only time she cried was when the nurse went to take her temperature. I guess if I were sleeping and someone stuck something cold under my armpit I would cry too.

Ready to go to the doctor

She weighs 9 lbs now, which is great because she was at 8 lbs 2 ozs when we were discharged from the hospital. (Our little girl is quite the eater!!) The doctor said she ways healthy and the perfect little baby!

I guess we must be doing something right, which is a total relief!!

Oh What a Night

Isabella and I survived our first night without daddy since Jason had to go back to work. Things went pretty well, despite the fact that I had a fever of 100.6, was achey, and had the chills. Somehow we managed. She's been sleeping pretty well through the nights, waking about every 3 hours to be fed. Boy that girl can eat!

Isabella also lost the rest of her cord last night. I was so glad it finally fell off. I'm sure it's more comfortable for her too. Jason thinks I'm crazy because I want to save it for her baby book. Maybe I am, but I don't want to forget any memory of our little girl! Until next time!

A Whole New World

This last week has been a whirlwind. We went from husband and wife to being a family. A week ago today, our beautiful daughter made her debut into the world. Let me fill you in.

August 12: Isabella Amber Standeford was born via C-Section at 5:57pm. She weighed 8 lbs 12 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long.

August 13-14: Spent this time recovering in the hospital. Hospital beds are so uncomfortable, especially when you have limited mobility. Poor Jason had to sleep on a cot that had a matress only 2 inches thick. I don't know how he did it, but he managed to get plenty of sleep.

August 15: The best day ever!! We were released from the hospital. It was so exciting to be heading home! Isabella was thrilled too!

August 16: Grammy Standeford, Aunt Rachel, Ann and Nellie came to visit for the first time. Isabella was excited to see everyone and mommy was excited to have the extra help to get settled in. The girls had their first pajama party Saturday night! Isabella was quite the party animal. She stayed up all night long, which wasn't much fun for mommy!

August 17: Uncle Jake and Aunt Rox came to meet Bella.

It was soon time for everyone to leave but not before a Bella sandwich!

That brings us up too date. Things with our new family have been going great! We've had only a couple restless nights but we wouldn't trade them for anything!! Our spoiled rotten dogs have really taken a liking to their new baby sister, which has helped things go smoothly!
